ITR is a rural theatre company dedicated to providing people in the former Osgoode and Rideau Townships and surrounding areas with an opportunity to indulge their interests in amateur theatre. Our main activities are geared towards a spring and fall production of 2 and 3 act plays, that are usually comedy, farce or melodrama. We welcome anyone and everyone who shares our love of theatre, no matter what your interest or level of past experience. To find out more about the ITR Theatre group - it's activities, history, and newsletter - check out the About ITR. If you are interested in auditioning for future plays, working behind the scenes or providing support in any way, check out our Auditions Page and our Volunteers Page.
We generally hold auditions in June for our Fall show, and in November or December for our Spring show. See our Auditions page for more information.
Our Spring 2014 show - “Here on the Flight Path” - is now over. A huge "thankyou" to all who attended our show and made it a great success! And a special thanks to the cast, crew, and production staff whose many hours of work enabled it to be such a great success! Thanks to our Patrons, Sponsors, and many customers for making our Spring 2014 show, “Here on the Flight Path”, a great success! Check our Past Shows link for photos and info on this and many other ITR past productions.
ITR presents Steel Magnolias, written by Robert Harling and directed by Lorraine Hopkins. This classic play, based on a true story, will make you laugh out loud, make you cry, and make you grateful for the all-important friendships in your lives. Originally set in Louisiana, the play's theme is universal: friends support each other through thick and thin, and humour is an essential part of life in the bad times as well as the good.
To quote one of the play's enduring characters, Clairee: “If you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me” at the Osgoode arena November 14-16 and 21-23 2014.
And to quote our play's Producers: “If you are interested in volunteering to help out in any capacity, please e-mail us at email@example.com.”
Tickets will go on sale to patrons on September 21st and to the general public on October 5th. Watch this website for more information as time goes on. See you at the show!!
Patrons are the unsung heroes of ITR - without their ongoing support we would not be able to continue producing these fine plays.
